News / Des Res for Kingfishers in North Oxford

Posted on 3rd February, 2015

Eighteen volunteers (a dozen local people plus a team from Oxford Conservation Volunteers) did a day’s work on the Trap Grounds Town Green in north Oxford on 31 January. It was cold, it was wet, and it was hard work – but well worth it, because by the end of the day the Kingfisher Bank was ready for its first occupants … a rubbish tip had been transformed into a pleasant leafy glade … and 30 holes had been dug for trees to be planted alongside the railway fence (to compensate for Network Rail’s wholesale slaughter of trees along the tracks).
